Stochastic terrorism is the use of mass media to incite random acts of violence that are statistically predictable but individually unpredictable. 

Stochastic terrorism is a form of indirect enabling of terrorists. The incitement of violence is not direct, but rather through the use of mass media to create an  atmosphere of fear and hatred. This atmosphere can

then lead to individuals being motivated to commit acts of violence.

Stochastic terrorism is a serious threat to public safety. It is important to be aware of the risks of stochastic terrorism and to take steps to protect ourselves from it. We can do this by being critical of the information we consume, by reporting suspicious activity, and by being prepared to take action if necessary.
